Check out the weekly Pierce's post comment.
Apparently Kmart has a good deal on General Mills cereal this week. Their sale ends today, so I hope you have time to pick up cereal really cheap!!

Kmart doubles
Starting Sunday, Kmart will be doubling coupons up to $0.99. The rules are similar to last time; only the first 5 coupons will be doubled and you must scan your rewards card first.
I'm not too excited about this one. Does anyone even have any $0.99 coupons? The best I can do is a $0.75 one. I guess I will probably skip it.
Please let me know if you go and find any deals so I can share with everyone.

Kmart Christmas card, Toy Clearance and school supply shopping
Stopped by Kmart today as I heard they are having their toy clearance. The clearance toys are an additional 50% off the ticketed price. The selection is still pretty good and I was able to pick up a few things for my boys.
Additionally I found out about a program Kmart started last year and is going on now. It is similar to having a Christmas Club account at a bank, except with a gift card!
Just start a new card (available at the registers) with at least $20 and add money to the value anytime you wish. On November 15th, Kmart will credit your card with an additional 3% of the value up to $100. The cards should be credited by November 28th. The card doesn't expire, so you can use it for Christmas or anytime! This is a great way to save money for holiday shopping, or even getting school clothes for the kids. Check with the store if you have any questions.
Now is also the season for school supply shopping. Keep your eyes peeled for the deals at each place. Staples, Kmart, Walmart and Walgreens have all had good deals. Remember to price match- just ask the store. I have been able to price match at all except Staples- but check with them too!
If you participate in Operation Christmas Child by filling shoe boxes, school supplies are a hot item. Pick them up now for pennies! Or if you have crafty kids like I do, this is when I try to replenish stock!!

Another way to use that $2 MQ for Pepsi 12 packs!
In addition to using it at Piggly Wiggly (check out the previous post) you can also use it at Kmart this week to get cheap soda.
Kmart has 12 packs on sale for $3 each. When you buy four you also get a coupon for a free 12 pack on a future visit.
Scenario
buy (4) 12 packs for $12
use $2 MQ to = $10 plus tax
get coupon for a free 12 pack on future visit (my receipt said on June 1st )
Net is $2 each 12-pack after coupon and future free 12 packs!
Essentially the same price as Piggly Wiggly when you use the coupon,
NOTE: The coupon expires quickly so be sure to use it before it expires!

My Kmart trip, I'll probably do another trip!
First off, a little birdie told me that she was able to do more than one transaction on her card. I tried it and was able to do two transactions today. However, the register will NOT allow you to double more than 5 coupons in a transaction. It will only double the first 5 coupons you hand over, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Here is what I did, with final cost too...
Transaction #1:
2 Tampax pearl $4.49, used $2 MQ- $0.49 net each
1 Ziplock container $2.50, used $1- net $0.50
1 Kellogg fruit snack $2, used $1 IP- net free
Transaction #2
1 Selsun shampoo $6.79, used $1 MQ- net $4.79
1 Tampax pearl $4.49, used $2 MQ- net $0.49
3 Ziplock sandwich bags $2.50, used $1/2 mQ- net $3 for 2 boxes (note: these were mismarked on the shelf but they gave it to me for that price), plus has coupon to get one box free when you buy 2 (not doubled)
1 Kelloggs fruit snacks $2, used $1 IP- net free
2 Poptarts $2, used $1/2 IP- net $1 per box
On another note, they have a bunch of winter clothes clearance that you should check out. I got brand new snowpants for $5.99! Super cheap!

Kmart Doubles Update
Kmart doubles start tomorrow. Despite the fact that it is not anywhere on their ad that I could find, the Portage store is participating. But there are a few rules.....
- Dates are 4/4/10-4/10/10
- Coupons value up to $2 will be doubled
- Doubling coupons will only happen when you use your rewards card (can sign up in store)
- Kmart coupons will not double
- There is a limit of 5 coupons per customer per day (I guess they will track due to the rewards card)
- Only the first 5 coupons presented will be doubled.
I'm not sure if it will be worth my while to go, I'm still undecided. Only 5 coupons puts quite a limit on it, and multiple transactions are now out of the equation.
Will it be worth your time?
If anyone does go and finds any great deals, email me so I can share. Good luck.

Kmart rewards
I got to realize a benefit of the Kmart Rewards card. I had a couple things to pick up there and imagine my surprise when after my card was scanned I was told I had $0.40 in rewards to apply towards my total!
Keep in mind the program has only been going for a couple months and I already earned a reward!
Happy happy joy joy!

Kmart Rewards update
I stopped by Kmart the other day and was able to get an answer to the whole 'are they going to double coupons with the reward card' issue.According to the manager of the store, the information that was available on the web when their reward program started was in error on the part of one of the major coupon websites. Kmart corporate did not state they would be doubling any coupons in their program.
Someone reported the program would do it, and that thread was picked up by other blogs/sites and spread virally from there.
So, Kmart will not double coupons as a part of their reward program per the store manager. I only hope they have a store wide doubling soon....I miss them!

Kmart Rewards Card Update
Someone is really on the ball. I was just ready to publish this update when they commented about it!
The update is that there is no update at this time. I spent some time on the phone with the Portage Kmart store manager today about this. Basically since this was started at the corporate level, the individual stores have not been notified about how to handle the rewards program. Questions about the double coupons have been referred to the District Manager. We hope to have an answer in a week or two, so hang tight.
I will be calling the Portage store back in a week or two to find out what they know. Hopefully we get some good news on this. It would be nice to double coupons more frequently wouldn't it?

Kmart Rewards Program
I finally got a chance to run to Kmart today to check out the Reward Program they have started.
First off, it is NOT a credit card. It is a loyalty card much like you have at Pierce's. You earn 1% on all purchases using the card that you can use at any time to buy items in store.
Best of all, the card allows you to double up to 5 coupons per day!! I have heard that the register will not allow you to go over the 5 coupons.
It is super easy to sign up. The forms are available at the courtesy desk and the registers. You fill out name, address, phone and email. You get a card to use immediately.
I tried to double a coupon coupons today but the program isn't working correctly yet and the manager wasn't in to work yet when I was there. If you go and it still isn't working be sure to insist that the manager credit you the correct amount. I plan to call the store later today to see if the glitch has been fixed.
All in all, it sounds like a good program to me. Of course it also sounds like I will be visiting Kmart a lot!

Kmart coupon
Thanks to Stephanie for the reminder on this deal. I haven't mentioned this in awhile.
If you go to the Kmart website here, you can sign up with your email and they will send you 2 $5 coupons for purchases in the store.
I believe the coupons will be emailed to you. One will be for an in store purchase and the other is for an online purchase. Be sure to take advantage of this offer to get products for free!!

Kmart confusion

I am so sorry about all the confusion regarding whether of not Kmart is doubling coupons this week.
Thank you to Kristine for contacting me last night. She let me know that she found a site listing Wisconsin Kmart as participating in the event.
I called Kmart in Portage this morning and they informed me that they ARE doubling coupons this week until the end of the ad on Saturday.
Be sure to take advantage of this event and head out to Kmart! I know I will be there this week, maybe even more than once!

Kmart Double Update
Well folks, I got the new Kmart ad today and I don't see any reference to a double coupon event of any kind. So I guess there will be no doubles this week.
If I hear anything different I will of course let you know.

More Kmart doubles???

The blogs are buzzing with news that Kmart will indeed be having a doubles week again starting on September 28th. I will update the blog for everyone as soon as I find out for sure.
Stay tuned.....

More at Kmart!
I stopped to get a prescription (and a $10 gift card for it) and decided to check on a couple more items.
2 Reese's pb cup 8 packs $1, $0.55 MQ
4 Reese's pb cups 2 packs $0.89, BOGO MQ
2 Hunts ketchup $1, $1/2 MQ
All the coupons doubled and my total (no joke) was $0.39 which was only for the tax. Everything was FREE! I think I will be saving the candy for Halloween or school treats, depends on how long it can last since the kids saw it come into the house.

Kmart Double Run
Man did I have a fun time doing this trip. I was also buying birthday gifts for two of my boys, and my cashier was so wonderful and let me do FOUR transactions so I could make the most of the Kmart coupons. (Note: you can only use one Kmart coupon per trip. example: $5/$50 purchase.)
1 Kids toothpaste $2.29, $1 MQ - $0.29
1 Tampax compact $4.49, $2 MQ - $0.49
2 Secret deodorant $2.49, $2 MQ - free
4 trial size Degree deodorant $0.95, $0.75 MQ - free
2 Q-tips $2.50 each, $0.30 MQ - $1.90 each
3 Ziploc bags $2 each, $1/2 MQ, plus MQ buy 2 get 1 free - 3 boxes for $2
1 Bounce dryer sheets $2.99 on clearance (could not find my coupons for it, so mad!)
4 Chinet plates $3.55, $2 MQ - free
1 Wishbone salad dressing $1.99, Peelie on chinet to get free - free
1 glade candle $3.49, $1.50 MQ from inside tin - $0.49
1 Glade candle refill $3.49, MQ to get free when you buy candle - free
5 Glade soy candles $2.99, MQ to get free - free
2 Welch's jelly $2, $0.75 MQ - $0.49 each
2 Hunt's Ketchup $1, $1/2 MQ - free
6 Reese's peanut butter cup 2 pack $0.89, BOGO MQ - got all free
3 8 pack Reese's pb cups $1, $0.55 MQ - free
2 Healthy choice fresh mixers $2.67, $1 MQ - $0.67 each
3 Sunny Delight juice $1 each, $0.55 MQ, plus 2 $0.25 MQ, 1 free, 2 @ $0.50 each
8 Snapple waters $1, 2 BOGO IP and $1 MQ for rest - all free
My 'before' total was just over $100, after coupons it was $10.45. As you can see, most of the things I bought were free or nearly free. I also used a $5/$50 purchase coupon, which is why I bought a free things that weren't on sale. I needed to make sure I had a balance that wasn't negative.
On another note (thanks mom), be sure to check the cosmetics area for clearance and sale items. My mom had several coupons for "$1 of any cover girl product" etc and was able to score free nail polish, emery boards and tweezers. I always forget to check that section. Thanks for the reminder!

Kmart...the good and bad news
According to www.hip2save.com, Kmart will be holding double coupons again starting this Sunday. Yippee! Of course the bad news is that this will be the last such time they will have them in 2009.
This is your last chance at Kmart double for the year. Take a good look around your house and see what you will be needing between now and then. Then check you coupons and match them up!
I know I don't need a lot now, but there are things I may be needing before the new year.
Check Kmart's website under "coupons". There are many coupons that they have going right now including a $5/$50 purchase and $5/$20 toy purchase.
Hip2save will likely be posting a comprehensive coupon match up list, so be sure to check out her site!
