Kmart doubles

Starting Sunday, Kmart will be doubling coupons up to $0.99. The rules are similar to last time; only the first 5 coupons will be doubled and you must scan your rewards card first.

I'm not too excited about this one. Does anyone even have any $0.99 coupons? The best I can do is a $0.75 one. I guess I will probably skip it.

Kmart Rewards Program

I finally got a chance to run to Kmart today to check out the Reward Program they have started.

First off, it is NOT a credit card. It is a loyalty card much like you have at Pierce's. You earn 1% on all purchases using the card that you can use at any time to buy items in store.

Best of all, the card allows you to double up to 5 coupons per day!! I have heard that the register will not allow you to go over the 5 coupons.

It is super easy to sign up. The forms are available at the courtesy desk and the registers. You fill out name, address, phone and email. You get a card to use immediately.

I tried to double a coupon coupons today but the program isn't working correctly yet and the manager wasn't in to work yet when I was there. If you go and it still isn't working be sure to insist that the manager credit you the correct amount. I plan to call the store later today to see if the glitch has been fixed.

All in all, it sounds like a good program to me. Of course it also sounds like I will be visiting Kmart a lot!

More Kmart doubles???

Looks like there may be more Kmart doubles after all.

The blogs are buzzing with news that Kmart will indeed be having a doubles week again starting on September 28th. I will update the blog for everyone as soon as I find out for sure.

Kmart Double Run

Man did I have a fun time doing this trip. I was also buying birthday gifts for two of my boys, and my cashier was so wonderful and let me do FOUR transactions so I could make the most of the Kmart coupons. (Note: you can only use one Kmart coupon per trip. example: $5/$50 purchase.)

My 'before' total was just over $100, after coupons it was $10.45. As you can see, most of the things I bought were free or nearly free. I also used a $5/$50 purchase coupon, which is why I bought a free things that weren't on sale. I needed to make sure I had a balance that wasn't negative.

On another note (thanks mom), be sure to check the cosmetics area for clearance and sale items. My mom had several coupons for "$1 of any cover girl product" etc and was able to score free nail polish, emery boards and tweezers. I always forget to check that section. Thanks for the reminder!

Kmart...the good and bad news

According to www.hip2save.com, Kmart will be holding double coupons again starting this Sunday. Yippee! Of course the bad news is that this will be the last such time they will have them in 2009.

This is your last chance at Kmart double for the year. Take a good look around your house and see what you will be needing between now and then. Then check you coupons and match them up!

I know I don't need a lot now, but there are things I may be needing before the new year.

Check Kmart's website under "coupons". There are many coupons that they have going right now including a $5/$50 purchase and $5/$20 toy purchase.

A second trip to Kmart

In my defense (not that I need an excuse...) but my kids and I were at Kmart for a "birthday present finding mission". And of course I had to just pick up a couple things..


4 Rice Krispie cereal 4/$9, used $1 MQ - $0.25 each
3 Vaseline lotion $3, $1.50 MQ - FREE
4 Propel water $0.79 each, $0.50 MQ - FREE
1 Applesauce $2.49, $1 IP - $0.49
Lunch box $7.99
Shower curtain $7.99

I also used my $3 off any $3 purchase coupon and I am getting a $5 rebate by mail for the cereal. My total out of pocket was $15.59 which I again put on my gift card! I only have a few bucks left on the card, but anytime I don't have to pay is all good!

I am planning my Walgreen's trip for tomorrow. I have tons of register rewards to use, and I hear any $25 purchase will earn a $5 reward as well. I will post it after I finish!

Another trip to Kmart

Well, I went back with my sister and found a couple deals I missed. Plus, I got some new coupons in the mail that were perfect to use at Kmart. Here is the breakdown:

• 4 boxes General Mills cereal 4/$6. I used the following coupons: 2-0.55 IP for plain cheerios which made them 0.40 each, and a $1/2 IP which made the other two boxes 50 cents each which is all way below my target price for cereal!
• 2 Olay body wash $6.49. $2 MQ from last Sunday, and there was a bonus Kmart incentive coupon on a tear pad next to the Olay for $2 off. So I got them for $0.49 each.
• 3 Bic Soleil razors $5.29 each, $2 MQ made them $1.29 each
• 2 Ziplock baggies 2/$4, used $1.25/2 MQ from my sister, made them 0.75 each
• 2 Cascade powder boxes $3.49 each. $1 MQ on each, plus again found an in store incentive coupon for additional $1 off, made these 0.49 each
• 4 Liquid Cascade $4.99 each, $1 MQ and $1 Kmart incentive on each = $1.99 each
• 4 Hunts pudding packs $1 each, $1/2 MQ = free
• 4 Pringles $1.50 each, $1/2 MQ made them 0.50 each
• 1 Peter Pan peanut butter $2.29 each, $1 MQ = 0.29

I was also able to get my $9.11 owed to me from doubling mistakes on Sunday. My before total was around $86, and after the above credit and coupons I pad only $17.82!! The Cascade deal alone made it worth my while to go there!

The total bummer was that I forgot to use my $5/25 purchase and they wouldn't give it to me without deleting the entire cart and starting over. After I had taken over 20 minutes in line! Plus my sister and I had all the kids with us too. So I gave up that fight. But on a lighter note, I got a save $10 on a $10 purchase coupon AND a $3 reward towards my next purchase. Hmmmm. I will definitely be going back. How can I convince my hubby that I need to return? Plus I hear the toy section has a ton of clearance stuff......

My "before" total was $108.10, but after doubled coupons I paid $37.06 which is a savings of 66%! But here is where it gets even better. I was going through my receipt and several coupons didn't double right. I matched them up to the items and it turns out the store owes me an additional $9.11! So my total after I go back for that money will be $27.95!!!

Always check your receipt. Anytime I see that the clerk has to 'choose' an item on the screen to match to the product, if they don't choose the exact item the coupon won't double correctly. I hate that I can't see their registers when I am checking out, but they have always been great about giving me my money back. I guess I will plan my next trip to double coupons since I will be getting money back.

Announcing Kmart doubles

It is official in case you didn't get the ad yet. Kmart in Portage is starting double coupon week on Sunday. Here's the details. You can only use one coupon per item. Coupons up to a $2 value will double. A maximum of 10 doubled coupons per person per day, and you may only buy 4 of a like item. Your before coupon total must also be at least $25.

That said, hip2save.com often does a coupon match up for Kmart so you can check there for deal ideas. That is my main source for Kmart. A word of warning though, she lives in South Carolina so the prices at her Kmart may be different. Use your best judgement!

Hey all! I read on a blog yesterday that Kmart will be starting double coupons on Sunday. I don't have confirmation yet if the Portage Kmart is included, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out! Start thinking about it!

Round two...Kmart

Well, I knew immediately after my Sunday trip to Kmart that I would need to make another one! I got lucky on Monday and got to run there child free! Here's the lowdown....

• 2 Cutter bug spray $5.39, $2 MQ- $1.39 after coupon (I warned you about my mosquito spray excitement on the last post)
• 2 Lysol toilet cleaner $2.29 each , $1/2 MQ- $1.29 each after coupon
• 3 Chinet plates $3.49, $2 MQ- free after coupons
• 3 Oust spray either $3.29 or $3.79 each, $2 MQ- free after coupons

My before total was $41 something, my out of pocket after doubled coupons was $8.59. Really awesome! Keep me posted on the deals you are getting.

I also ran to Walgreen's on Monday and will get to that post later. I got some good deals but also ran into a very rude/mean cashier. I even ended up calling Corporate headquarters for Walgreen's after the visit. I'm still pretty riled up, so I'm taking a little extra time to post it accurately. Here's the first of two trips (so far) I made to Kmart to 'do' their double coupons. Let me run it all down for you.....Keep in mind I am writing the coupon value before it is doubled, and that it will not fully double the coupon if the item is less than that amount. Also for the record, the cashier did not make me separate my transactions to be able to use more than 10 coupons...no hassle at all!

Quite a bit of stuff, I'm probably most excited about the mosquito spray. Can you say LOSER? But we go through quite a bit of it here in mosquito haven where we live. My grand total was over $100 (I wish these receipts would list the before total), I remember glancing up at it and it was over that amount. My final out of pocket was $41.46 for this trip. I was very excited because we sure brought home a lot of stuff. Plus I had hubby and all 3 kids with us- that alone is an accomplishment!

New information for everyone....Kmart will again be offering double coupons starting this weekend on Sunday. Their flyer has a misprint that states 'doubling up to 0.75'. The store in Portage will actually be doubling coupons up to $2 in value!!

Wowzer. I had such a blast at Kmart today! I think I saw at least 6 people I know shopping. Kristi and Meredith were cashing in on the double coupons. Luckily, they didn't take all the stuff I was looking for!

My total before coupons was over $141. but after coupons it was $39.09. Here's where it gets even better....I used my two $10 gift cards that I got from transferring my prescriptions, and I only had to pay $19.72 out of pocket! Pretty sweet deal!

Just to let everyone in my area know, Kmart will again be doing double coupons starting next weekend, April 21st! Time to start thinking ahead and planning your trip! Look to the higher value coupons for the best deals. Not sure what the double limit will be yet. More details to come as I hear them!

A second round of Double's

Kmart again. I had to run for a prescription so why not take another look and use a few more coupons?

Keep in mind all coupons were doubled. So my total oop was $8.56 for over $40 worth of stuff!

A 2nd successful Kmart trip!!

Here it is folks, my second trip to Kmart to use their double coupons to my advantage. I will list my deals for you after coupons.

Freebies: 4 boxes pantyliners, 1 bag razors, 1 toothpaste, 1 tweezers, 1 Buddies soap.
19 cents: 1 clean & clear cleaner
40 cents: 1 box hot chocolate
50 cents: 4 boxes Pop Tarts
80 cents: 1 bag cookie mix
$1 each : 2 jugs laundry soap
$1.29: Tampax
$1.50 each: 3 bottles Benefiber

My total before any coupons was $65 ish (and change), my after coupon total including taxes was $11.95. This means it was a savings of 82%. Definitely worth the time!

Sure it took a little longer than a 'normal' trip to the store, but I did pre-plan which coupons I would use as well. To me, that extra time was worth the savings! Plus, this is all stuff I will be able to use. Got quite the shoppers high from this trip!

Kmart and the doubles!

Let me tell you, I was so freakin' excited about this trip! Lots 'o freebies to be had at Kmart!


This half of my loot shows the 2 kotex, 4 blistex, and 4 packs of bic razors that were FREE! The Lever soap was 24 cents, Secret deodorant and Gillette body wash were 49 cents each and the 2 poptarts were 50 cents each!





This half of the purchases were a little more (it wouldn't fit nice in one picture). The 3 Jergens lotions, 3 bounce dryer sheets, and one laundry soap were $1 each. 4 boxes of Wheat Thins $1.30 each, 2 tampons $1.50 each, coffee mate $1.79, lever soap $3.29, Diapers 6.99. The Benefiber was a rip-off- I'm pretty sure it ran up wrong. It was 8.39.

My total oop was $45.46. Sounds like a lot I know, but before coupons it was $111.67!! It was a savings of 61%.

I would have saved more, but Dave wanted to try the Benefiber so I blame him. Plus I got the pampers as a baby gift for little Ben:)

A great trip I've decided. I may even run back to use a couple more freebie items, if I feel like making the trip. Happy shopping to you!
